You may have heard that digestion begins in the mouth. This is because the chemical breakdown of food starts by chewing your food well. The Gastrointestinal Tract takes in the food on one end, digests, converts, and absorbs its nutrients, and then eliminates the undigested waste out the Anal Canal at the other end.
