The Lymphatic System consists of Lymph Nodes, Lymph Vessels, Thymus, Spleen, Tonsils.
The Lymphatic System is a semi- closed system, consisting of a large network of vessels, nodes, organs and tissue located throughout the body. This extensive system carries food and oxygen to, and waste products from, the cells of the body. Lymph flows toward the heart, through lymphatic vessels and eventually enters the circulatory system via large ducts. Lymph nodes serve as a filtration system for waste and toxins, trapping inflammatory pathogens, thus preventing the spread of disease to other parts of the body. Unlike the heart, which has its own pump, the way that this fluid gets moved throughout the body is by physical movement. The body has approximately 600-800 lymph nodes, with about 200 just in the neck area!
According to The Book of Stones, “Prehnite helps balance and heal the circulatory system and the lymph. It can assist in clearing toxins and wastes from the body through the Lymphatic and urinary systems.” Who knew?
