I Am Grieving – Crystal Series for August 2022
Apache Tears and Aquamarine
This is a personal post.
A little over 2 weeks ago, my mom passed away.
I am not telling you this because I want your sympathy (although it is welcome), I am telling you this because it has me thinking a lot about grief and its various forms of expression or lack of.
I haven’t yet experienced feeling grief in the traditional sense of feeling incredible sadness.
Perhaps I feel that if I open that door, I will be blown away by what I find.
Or perhaps, the grieving process just looks different for me right now.
What I do know is that I am in a tender process of untangling a lot of “stuff”. Memories from the past, family relationships, thoughts of death, and how I want to be with it all.
I wonder if you can relate. Because you don’t have to have just lost a parent to be grieving.
I think on some level, we are all grieving, and have been for some time.
Grieving how things “used to be pre-covid”, grieving a world where gun violence is a common occurrence, grieving witnessing blatant discrimination and hatred, grieving over unimaginable war, grieving the loss of women’s rights, and yes, grieving losing a loved one. I am sure you can fill in the blank with a number of other things to be grieving over.
Although turning to crystals may not be your first thought, I want to share with you 2 crystals that we can work with to assist us with this collective grief we are carrying around, whether it is conscious or not.
Apache Tears and Aquamarine.
Here is Apache Tears’ message: “We carry a lot of weight, a bit of heaviness. Nothing to be afraid of though, because we can handle it. We are rooted, which helps us carry this load. This is what we offer you. We create a roadmap for you to follow, to help root you so that you are better able to deal with the burdens of life and gently feel your emotions. You’ve got this!”
We worked with Aquamarine back in March. Here is her message: “I am a sensitive soul, with depth and wisdom. I am an old Soul. Turn to me when you need advice on how to act with peace and calmness in your heart and head. Allow yourself to release emotions to help clear the way for more light and love.”
I ask you to join me this month in tenderly holding ourselves and our grief. Together, let’s work to uplift ourselves and this world out of grief and into love and gratitude.
My mom was my biggest supporter and critic when it came to my monthly videos.
She would call me and say “Saralee, that was your best one yet, but you really should do something with your hair.”
I am comforted by the thought that I am not alone in this process.
May you treat yourself, and others, with compassion and kindness.
