I started to build a relationship with the crystals, and used their voices to get clearer not only about the crystal’s messages, but started a practice of letting myself be open to unlock my own abilities.
After compiling a diary of the crystal’s voices, I began a long process of interpreting all of the traditional tarot cards. This involved setting up an extensive spreadsheet where I could write down core elements that I could then match up with the crystal’s messages.
I was taught tarot through storytelling, and knew that this was how I wanted to create my deck. Getting to the essence of each card helped me then write a story for each suit that informs where you are on your journey.
Coming up with directive words and pairing the message with a beautiful image (that had to be carefully sourced) for the Major Arcana cards was also quite the task! Not to mention the VERY MANY incarnations of a logo! (Kudos to Michele my design assistant for all her patience, skills and creative ideas).
I also had to source all of the crystals, have them all photographed, choose fonts, and design all of the cards to fit a very specific sized template.
Once the creative process of the deck was well rooted, I started thinking about packaging. How on earth was I going to get all of these beautiful little crystals into a kit that I could then ship? Oh yeah, did I mention that I wanted it to be earth-friendly?
