I just got home from playing tennis. As I was playing, these thoughts kept tickling the outskirts of my mind and this blog post began writing itself.
For a while now, I have been focusing on how to get out of my head and more into my body. I have set up crystal grids with this intention, I have drummed before sitting in meditation, I’ve stood before my crystal bowls and tried to “hear” their message to me.
All this “efforting” to try to make this shift happen.
So back to tennis. I have not been professionally trained . I play very intuitively. When I play, I naturally bring my attention to each move, which allows me to REALLY focus on being present in the moment, in my body. This is when I play my best and get the best results. When I “try” to plan my moves in advance or let my inner chatter take over, it takes me out of tune with what my body instinctively knows and wants to do.
Add to the whole story that while we were playing, there were these annoying little bugs flying all around me. Little disturbances that kept trying to take my attention away from being present. Just like in life. However, I was somehow able to accept them and stay focused. Who knew that tennis had so much to teach me!
All of this led me to wonder if this is something that you struggle with as well; being more in your head than in your heart/body.
Stay tuned for my next email with an invitation to join me on a healing journey. Perhaps together, we can find our way back to our heart and our natural, intuitive self. |
